Minutes of the Meeting

Informal premeeting introduction

  1. All the participants except one reached at the venue before time.
  2. Three members couldn’t reach because they couldn’t get the only bus from Noon Bagla.
  3. Tea and snacks offered during casual chats.
  4. The meeting started at 11:30 am scheduled time.

Meeting

  • Altaf Hussain recited the verses from Holy Quran.
  • Project Manager Waheed Gilani introduced the members to AHS Foundation Management. He thanked the HMC members for their time and traveling to Muzaffarabad. He also role of HMC for the project briefly. Then he requested Chairman Mr. Nadeem Shah to proceed with agenda of the meeting.
  • Shah itemised past and present activities of the AHS Foundation and spoked about the future plans.
  • Director Mr. M. Aref simplified the state of affairs within AHS Foundation and its limited source of funding provided by Mr. Shah’s family. He also emphasised the need of funds generation through other resources, donors, and local NGOs or CBOs (Community based organisations)
  • On behalf of HMC, member from Khawra Valley Mr. Gohar Ali thanked AHS Foundation for long and continuous support to BHC (Basic Health Centre) and recapped its vital role for at least 10 villages of District Muzaffarabad who depend on this centre. He also said he will do his best to involve privileged families to come forward and contribute for purely humanitarian service provided by AHS Foundation.
  • Vice Chairman HMC, Raja Abdul Waheed Khan spoke point to point which he had already noted on paper.
  • He thanked AHS Foundation for an exemplary service to unaided remote communities continuing for 17 years.
  • He explained the social and economical situation, atmosphere, infrastructure and lack of basic facilities in the area.
  • He appreciated the services of AHS Foundation besides all these hardships in the area.
  • He acknowledged the hard work, dedication, good behaviour and selflessness of the AHS Foundation staff at BHC. He thanked for the quality of medicine provided at the BHC.
  • He acknowledged that the scope of AHS Foundation BHC is expanding to 85 villages of the subdivision Chikar due to its reputation. Those who become downhearted from nearby government or private services, do visit AHS Foundation BHC with a hope of the help.
  • He explained that the families who have and had resources have moved out of the area for better education and health services. Left behind are the people who have no or very limited resources. Those people cannot be ignored and need help. He said he too will do his best to involve people to contribute for vital health services at AHS Foundation’s BHC
  • Other participant of the meeting also thanked AHS Foundation one by one and assured that they will do their best to assist in continuing the services.

Chairman Mr. Nadeem Shah and Director Mr. M. Aref yet again thanked the HMC members for travelling to Muzaffarabad for the meeting. He offered them lunch and after the meal, everybody left towards their destinations.
